Privacy policy

This site belongs to Alejandro Gomez-Meade, an independent marketing and communications professional based in Cuneo, Italy. I am the data controller for the personal data described on this page.

For anything about your data, write to me at the form at the bottom of this page.

Contact form. When you write to me through the form at the bottom of each page, I receive your name (optional), your email address and your message. The form sends them to my inbox; the website does not store them. I use them only to reply and to follow up on what you wrote about. Legal basis: your request and my legitimate interest in answering it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

Journal emails. If you sign up on the Journal page, your email address is saved in the site's database and a copy comes to my inbox. I use it only to send you an email when there are new Journal posts, at most once a month. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by writing to me; your address is then deleted.

Server logs. Like every website, the server records technical data for each request (IP address, browser, page and time) to deliver the site and keep it secure. My hosting provider keeps these logs for a short period, and I don't use them to identify anyone. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in running a secure site (Art. 6(1)(f)).

The films on this site are embedded from Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., United States) with Vimeo's “do not track” setting on, which tells the player not to track your session or collect viewing statistics. Loading a film still sends Vimeo your IP address and browser information, and Vimeo's security service (Cloudflare) sets technical cookies that protect the player from abuse. Vimeo's own privacy policy applies to those.

Both forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc., United States), which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending them. It loads only when you start filling in a form and shows no puzzle. To do this, Cloudflare reads technical information from your browser and device, such as your IP address and browser details. Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum applies to that information. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in keeping the forms free of spam (Art. 6(1)(f)).

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. Your browser keeps two small preferences on your device, which are never sent to me: the light or dark look, if you pick one with the switch in the footer (until you change it), and the project filter you last used (until you close the tab). The only cookies come from Vimeo's player, as described above.

WP Engine, Inc. (United States) hosts the website and its database. Proton AG (Switzerland) provides my email, where contact messages and sign-ups arrive. Vimeo, Inc. (United States) delivers the films. Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) checks the forms for spam.

I don't sell your data or share it with anyone else. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses; Switzerland has an adequacy decision from the European Commission.

Messages: as long as our conversation and any work that follows need them, then deleted, except records the law requires me to keep, such as invoices. Journal sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. Server logs: the hosting provider's short rotation.

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the data I hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to me and I'll answer within one month. There is no automated decision-making or profiling on this site.

You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority where you live.
